If you have a tile floor, you know that it is a very durable flooring but it is not impervious to soil. Over time, your grout lines can become saturated with dirt, oil and grease. When this happens you have two choices. You can get down to hands and knees and waste a weekend scrubbing your outlines hoping for a slight improvement or you couldĀ call a carpet and upholstery cleaning service to do the job. In a fraction of the time that it would take you to attempts to clean your floor, they can get it sparkling clean. There is only one real way to clean tile and grout, and that is with a steam cleaning system. You really need at least 750 pounds per square inch of water pressure to clean tile and grout. This water pressure is needed to get into the porous grout lines and flush out deep down soil in grease.
What to look for in a tile and grout cleaner?
First and foremost, as I have already stated, you need to to find someone who uses a truck mounted steam cleaning system. Portable systems will not have the water pressure for the key capabilities to effectively clean tile and grout. A truck mounted system will be able to clean your floor in excess of 700 pounds per square inch and be able to maintain high heat levels. This is crucial when dealing with grout lines that are often filled with grease and oil. Besides using a truck mounted system, your tile cleaner should also be an owner operator if possible. This will assure you that you have someone with a high level of experience and a high desire to make you happy. If a qualified owner operator is not available, your second best bet is a company that uses their own employees. Do not use a company that hires subcontractors. Most companies will not flat out say that they use subcontractors, but you can usually figure it out if they are reluctant to commit to saying that their staff is employed by them. Lastly, make sure that the company you hire includes everything in the price. If you are looking at their website or a coupon, look for the fine print.
